Written Interrogatory Response
When used, the Written Interrogatories (or simply Interrogatories) are usually the first method of communication between the Industry Division of the DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (CAS) and a security clearance applicant. Other divisions DoD CAF and other federal agencies use a “Request for Information” (RFI), “Supplemental Information Request” (SIR), or similarly titled requests, when they are unable to make a clearance or employment suitability determination without additional information. Failure to properly answer an Interrogatory, SIR, or RFI usually results in the issuance of a “Letter of Intent” (LOI) to deny/revoke a clearance with a “Statement of Reasons” (SOR) or a “Notice of Proposed Action” (NOPA) to disqualify an individual from employment. In either case it adds months to the adjudication process. The response to an Interrogatory, SIR ,or RFI is best submitted as a sworn affidavit, and as such applicants need professional assistance in their preparation. This service will provide a detailed review of the issues and obtain from the client all relevant information surrounding the issues. In most cases portions of the clearance application form and investigative file (if available) will need to be reviewed. The service will provide the client a carefully crafted draft and final response to the Interrogatory, SIR, or RFI in affidavit format that accurately and completely answers, refutes, explains, extenuates, and/or mitigates matters raised by the Interrogatory, SIR, or RFI. (Average range of charges: 10 to 20 hours)
